ABOUT IQ WORKSHOP

Making ideas real.

CAD, 3D printing and electronics, shared from a real workshop.

Hi, I’m Steve.

A UK-based maker and lifelong tinkerer. IQ Workshop is where I share the process of turning an idea into something real, using CAD, 3D printing, electronics, laser cutting and hobby CNC.

I like understanding how things work. That might mean designing a replacement part, building a circuit board, making a workshop tool or learning a new skill to get an unfinished project off the bench.

What I make and share

My projects bring design and practical making together. On the website and my YouTube channel, you’ll find:

Design

CAD modelling and practical designs for real parts.

Make

3D printing, laser cutting and hobby CNC projects.

Connect

Arduino, ESP32 and electronics builds, plus experiments with automation and AI to help with maker projects.

The process matters

I don’t just share the finished result. I show the mistakes, the changes of plan and the troubleshooting that happen along the way. If something doesn’t work, that’s part of the story too.

My aim is to make the process useful to other curious makers, whether you’re starting your first project or finding a way through a difficult one. I share what I try, what I learn and what I’d do differently next time.

Follow a project

Watch the builds on my YouTube channel, explore my project articles, or browse the tools I use.

Where I have project files available, you’ll find them in the shop.
